The much awaited 5th International Conference on Sexology was inaugurated on 13.02.2010 at 10.15 am by the Renowed expert in sexual dysfunctions on male and female, Dr. Ganesan Adaikan, Ph.D.,D.Sc.,ACS (USA) about whom we have given an explanatory profile in our issue no.1. The inaugural function was presided over by Dr.RajaMohan. The inauguration was done traditionally by lighting a “Kuthuvilakku” by Dr. Adaikan, Dr. Raja Mohan, Professor Karunanidhi, Dr. Kamaraj and Dr. Jayarani Kamaraj. This was preceded a welcome speech by Professor Swaminathan.

Dr. Raja Mohan, in his inaugural speech congragulated Dr. Kamaraj and Dr. Jayarani Kamaraj for their relentless efforts in conducting the International Conference for the 5th year in succession. HE expressed his amazement at the meticulous manner each aspect has been planned and executed despite the fact that the Doctor couple ever remain busy with their hospital duties.

Dr. Kamaraj made his keynote address, the copy of which has already been circulated to the participants. Dr. Kamaraj has touched upon all the sensitive aspects of sex comprehensively. He acknowledged the felicitations with utmost humility and thanked everyone who has been with him his this annual endeavour.

Dr. Adaikan, in his special address, emphasized the need for sex education for ensuring a healthy society. This, he observed, is all the more important in the present in the media holds a very important role. He also shared some of his international experiences in a very interesting manner.

Dr. Karunanidhi and Dr. Prasad spoke felicitating Dr. Kamaraj and Dr. Jeyarani Kamaraj for their pioneering work in the treatment of infertility in their Aakash Fertility Centre and Hospital at Chennai.

This was followed by releasing of a new book entitled SEXOLOGY written by Mr. T. Kamaraj. Copies of the book were presented to Dr. Adaikan, Dr. Rajamohan, Dr. Karunanidhi and Dr. Prasad by Dr. Kamaraj.

After the vote of thanks by Dr. Jeyarani Kamaraj the inauguration function came to an end.
